Lecture series and exercises: This class teaches the basics of quantum mechanics for chemists, from the foundations (particle in a box, harmonic oscillator, rigid rotator) via the modern atomic model to the chemical bond. Also, the course lays the foundations for the spectroscopy of atoms and molecules.

Lecture series and seminar: In this class aims to provide the fundamentals of colloidal nanoscience, including plasmonic metal particles, semiconductor nanocrystals, and superparamagnetic nanoparticles. The more far-reaching goal of the course is to learn how to independently familiarize oneself with a complex, new area of research.
